Structure and Resourcing

At present the Forum is a voluntary association of Business Christians without a legal constitution or structure. This will change during the initial months of its existence. It is anticipated that the Forum will be constituted as a company limited by guarantee, although it is possible that it will also seek charitable status.

 

Consultation will take place with members in the autumn of 2011 to agree structure and governance arrangements. Our thinking at present is towards having a small Board and a larger Operational Group, the latter representing the sub regions but also potential activities – media, research, lobbying, business development etc.

 

The Forum is committed to working with existing Business Christian groups and programmes where they exist already in the North West. It will encourage and support the creation of new groups where there is a clear need that can be identified and led by members in their local business communities.

 

At present the operational costs of the Forum are being met by donations from initial members. This situation will continue for the rest of 2011. There will be no subscription fee for membership during this period, recognising that the Forum is at an early stage of development and initial members need to assess its potential and value to their own situations. 

 

Consultations with members will review a business plan for growth in 2011 and beyond, including the issue of a membership subscription and the development of other income streams.
